Camp Invention

STEM Saturday
Posted on 10/02/2021

Dear family and friends of Helen Arnold,

Helen Arnold is hosting 8 Saturdays of fun where campers in grades K-5 will explore STEM concepts beginning on 10/2 and ending on Saturday 11/20, from 9a- 1p. Breakfast and lunch will be provided by United Way.

Your child will turn into an innovator who will design morphing vehicles, experiment with fun physics concepts like trajectory and velocity, make and adopt their own solar-powered crickets, and reverse engineer a wireless microphone. They will also explore flight concepts through robots and paper airplanes, design tabletop games, collaborate with fellow campers to help protect the Earth and discover ways to protect their creative ideas!

What makes Camp Invention so special is that it guides kids to build real-life skills through real-world challenges. It’s incredible that just 8 days at camp can drastically shift how kids approach problem solving — but I’ve seen it happen firsthand as they design solutions, build prototypes and gain confidence in their own ideas.

I love this high-energy, hands-on camp, and I am so excited for the all-new Recharge program.

Happy Inventing,

Ms Short
